Mexico meets the Mojave Desert - again. Leahy + Chef Gera of Aguamiel (Oaxaca, MX) return to D E S E R T R A D E to oer an experience of celebration and communion utilizing the ancient languages of sacred food and ceremony. We gather under vast vistas of starry desert skies as brothers and sisters in celebration of the gifts of Life. To honor and remember. To savor the abundance oered. To nourish our beings. To dance our gratitude.

We connect to what we consume with consciousness—from the land where our nourishment originates and how we choose our ingredients, to the manner in which it is prepared, to the way it is served and shared. Our focus is on the restoration of health and harmony in our ways of relating with food, as well as the health and harmony of our families and communities.

Ceremonial Feast We open with a ceremony as we gather in a circle to connect with and give thanks to the land and each other and share a ceremonial beverage made with corn and cacao. Followed by a family-style 4-course feast crafted with care using seasonal and consciously sourced ingredients, combining local products with flavors from the best cuisines of Mexico. A unique sensorial experience, recalling ancestral food traditions that nourish our bodies, spirits, and communities. The evening culminates with dancing, lounging, and communing under the stars.

YEMANJA crafts traditional mezcals - with agaves that grow wild in the forests or fields, without human intervention - these wild agaves have a higher value in the market, not only their price, but their flavors and aromas. As the growth of wild agaves is harsher due to climatic conditions, the plant stores a greater amount of sugar to survive. Therefore, the maturation time ranges from 10 to 25 years.
